General Assembly elections will be held in the State on 4th February, 2017. In the run up to the elections it is apprehended that goods like two wheelers, televisions, mobile phones, computers, laptops, house appliances are likely to be imported from other States by evading tax to distribute as freebies to induce the voters.

Therefore, it is directed that all the dealers dealing in above goods shall submit advance details of consignments which are to be imported till 4-2-2017 to Commercial Tax Officers of concerned jurisdiction, prior to entry of such goods into the State, with details of goods, vehicle numbers, entry point in the State and date and time of entry. Any vehicle without prior intimation shall be detained forthwith and action as deemed fit shall be taken in such cases.
