In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 30 of the Tamil Nadu Value Added Tax Act, 2006 (Tamil Nadu Act 32 of 2006), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes a reduction in respect of tax payable under the said Act at the point of first sale on Foreign liquors, that is to say, Wines, Spirits and Beers imported into India from foreign countries and dealt with under the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (Central Act 51 of 1975) or under any other law for the time being in force relating to the duties of customs on goods imported into India from seventy three per cent to fifty eight per cent.

2. This Notification shall come into force on the 1st July 2008.
