In exercise of the powers conferred by third proviso to section 3 of the Assam Professions Trades, Callings and Employments Taxation Act, 1947 (Assam Act VI of 1947), the Governor of Assam is hereby pleased to exempt any person above the age of 60 years from payment of tax under this Act subject to the condition that his gross income does not exceed Rs.5.00 lakhs in a financial year.

This notification shall be deemed to have come into force with effect from 1st April, 2006.
