CHAPTER X : MISCELLANEOUS

Body 75. Power of Remission of arrears and granting Installments:

(1) Subject to such conditions and restrictions as may be deemed fit the State Governmenr may remit the arrears of tax, penalty, interest or other dues against any dealer or person.

(2) Subject to such conditions and restrictions, as may be deemed fit -

    (a) the State Government may permit any dealer or other person, against whom any amount of tax penalty or other dues is out standing to pay the amount in such number of monthly installments, as it may consider proper in the circumstances of the case; and

    (b) the Commissioner may likewise permit any dealer or other person, against whom any amount of tax, penalty or other dues aggregating not more than two lakh rupees is outstanding, to deposit the same in such number of monthly installments, not exceeding twenty, as he may consider proper in the circumstances of the case.

(3) Where such dealer or other person fails to furnish, within thirty days of the receipt of the order referred to in sub-section (2), adequate security to the satisfaction of the proposing of authority concerned for payment of outstanding amount, or fails to comply with the conditions and restriction imposed in such order, the amount due shall be recoverable at once.
