2. Definitions

(1) In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(f) "Assessing authority" means an Commercial tax Officer or Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes or any other officer or the Commercial taxes Department authorised to make any assessment by or under this Act;
