Subject: Amendment in Import Policy condition of Cashew Kernels (broken/ whole)

In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992. read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2015-2020. as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amends the import policy condition of cashew kernels (broken) under ITC(HS) Code 08013210 and cashew kernel (whole) under ITC(HS) Code 08013220 under Chaptcr-08 of ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule 1 (Import Policy) as under:

However, import is free if CIF value is above Rs.680/- per KG.

1. However, import is free if GIF value is above Rs. 680/- per Kg.

2. MIP conditions, however, shall not be applicable for imports by 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in the SEZ.

3. SEZs and EoUs units shall not be allowed to sell the imported Cashew Kernels into Domestic fariff Area (DTA).

Effect of this Notification: Minimum Import Price (MIP) on Cashew kernel (broken / whole) will not be applicable for imports by 100% Export Oriented Units (EOUs) and units in the SEZs subject to the condition that the imported Cashew Kernels are not sold into Domestic Tariff Area (DTA).

This issues with the approval of Minister of Commerce & Industry.
