2. Definitions.-

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(b) "Assessing authority" means a Deputy Commissioner of Professions Tax, Assistant Commissioner of Professions Tax or Profession Tax Officer or any other officer authorised by the State Government in this behalf to make any assessment by or under this Act;
