In exercise of the powers conferred by section 17-A of the Odisha Value Added Tax Act, 2004 (Odisha Act 4 of 2004), the State Government having been satisfied that it is necessary so to do in the public interest, do hereby exempt from tax the sale of materials such as PSC Pole, Conductor, Transformer, Cable etc. for use as equipment and material in the construction of Rural Electrification Project in the State of Odisha under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) Scheme of Rural Infrastructure and Household Electrification subject to the condition that the executant of the aforesaid rural electrification projects i.e. Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) shall furnish necessary certificate (annexed herewith) to the effect that those goods will be used in the execution of Rural Electrification Project under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).
